About the Author: Emily Warren

Emily Warren is a cultural historian and creative industries specialist with over two decades of experience exploring the dynamic intersection of heritage, identity, and contemporary cultural expression across Eastern Europe and beyond.

She holds a degree in History and East European Cultural Studies from the University of Nottingham, where she focused on the rich and diverse cultures of Russia and South East Europe. Her studies spanned topics ranging from the Byzantine era to 21st-century cultural movements, with particular interest in the literature, cinema, and popular culture of the post-Yugoslav region. During her time at Nottingham, Emily also explored Slavonic languages and engaged in interdisciplinary research on the political and social transformations of Eastern Europe.

Building on her academic foundation, Emily earned a Master’s degree in Management in the Creative and Cultural Industries from the University of York. This program deepened her expertise in cultural leadership, arts entrepreneurship, and strategic development across sectors such as museums, publishing, television, and live events. As part of her postgraduate studies, she gained hands-on experience in consultancy projects with cultural institutions, participated in field trips, and took part in industry-led masterclasses.

Emily’s approach combines academic insight with a passion for making culture accessible, engaging, and globally relevant. Her work often highlights underrepresented narratives from Eastern Europe and champions creative collaboration across borders.

She currently contributes to Cultura Quest Tours as a cultural consultant, designing content that bridges the past and present, and curating immersive experiences that reveal the deeper stories behind art, architecture, and regional heritage.
